Description
This variant of the Penis Envy mushroom is noted for it’s potency and distinct appearance. In the 1980s, a company in the Pacific Northwest called Homestead began playing around with the original genetics of Penis Envy mushrooms. Compared to the original Penis Envy mushrooms, Melmac mushrooms have contorted stems and wavy caps. “Gnarly” would be an appropriate description of this mushroom. Most likely, Homestead named the strain after the fictional home planet of ALF—the main character from the popular 80s sitcom. Homestead sold spore prints of this variant through the 1980s before the company vanished. Melmacs are becoming popular again amidst the current psychedelic revolution.
Guidelines & Dosage
1-2g is generally good for a medium to strong experience, although you may wish to do more if adventurous or less for microdosing. Results will depend on creating a peaceful setting and not overloading yourself with too much stimuli, as is common in our world today.
Note – Microdosing every day is not recommended. Because your body produces a tolerance, you might see diminishing returns after a few days if they are taken every day. Plus, the fact that positive effects can sometimes be felt many days after a microdose is a good reason to space out your doses.
As with any nootropic/psychedelic, it should be avoided by pregnant or breastfeeding women or anyone prone to seizures, heart problems, blood pressure problems, or mental health issues like severe anxiety.
